The second edition of the RDA Winter School ran 18-22 November 2024 at the Elite Palace Hotel in Stockholm, featuring two intensive courses on advanced statistical methods in survival analysis and epidemiology.
Course 1 covered statistical methods for population-based cancer survival analysis (3 days; Paul Dickman, Sandra Eloranta, Caroline Dietrich); Course 2 covered joint modelling of longitudinal and survival data (2 days; Michael Crowther, Alessandro Gasparini, Sara Ekberg). This edition has concluded and registration is closed.
What it is made of
Course 1: population-based cancer survival analysis
- Relative survival and excess hazard models
- Flexible parametric survival models
Course 2: joint modelling of longitudinal and survival data
Dynamic predictions and extensions are a topic of it.
- Joint modelling of longitudinal and survival data
Who it is for
Epidemiologists, statisticians, physicians, public health specialists or anyone with an interest in cancer patient survival and advanced survival analysis.
What to know first
Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of epidemiology and biostatistics, and comfort fitting statistical models such as logistic or Cox regression. Previous knowledge of basic survival analysis concepts is recommended.
